The scores of the concert published on this page are cataloged in the transcriptions of Santino Cara with the code: CS2188. La stravaganza, is a set of concertos composed by Antonio Vivaldi around the 1714. They were published in Amsterdam in 1716 under the title “La Stravaganza” Op.4 that Vivaldi he dedicated to the Venetian nobleman Mr. Vettor Delfino. These 12 concerts are set for solo violin, string orchestra and continuo, although sometimes as is clearly visible in the sheet music, it also commits a second violin soloist and sometimes the cello solo. The Op.4 called the extravagance is among the important works by Vivaldi, but we must remember even more important precedents as l’estro armonico Op.3, il cimento dell’armonia e dell’invenzione Op.8, la Cetra Op.9, with other works at 12 and six concerts. In any case, these works for solo instrument and string orchestra, are the Vivaldi’s imprint that made them famous in the period in which they were written and continue to this day to be played with taste and interest. Recall that the works we have mentioned above, including the concert inserted in this page, have been collected in several books in PDF format, and are available in the Vivaldi’s category where you will find transcriptions of concertos for violin and string orchestra, violin and piano, string quartet, piano solo, oboe and piano, flute and piano.
